A moment to thank Park the Van Records

These are all great songs from great bands from Park The Van Records, out of
Park the Van lays claim to such awesomeness as: Dr. Dog, The Teeth, The Generationals, and Floating Action.

I will start with the Generationals : When They Fight They Fight.
I am posting this video because it is dorky and because the live videos indicate to me that this band may not be as good live as they are on my stereo. But for all my homies out there who are too broke to go to concerts, anyway- watch these dorks dance to this fun song.

I get the feeling this was either a Media class project or a really fun Saturday.

Fun Facts: This song is from their only album, Con Law. Listen to more here: http://generationals.bandcamp.com/

The Teeth : Ball of a Dead Rat
No video for this one, but the song is too good not to post!

The Teeth have an awesome Daytrotter Session here: http://www.daytrotter.com/dt/the-teeth-no-no-no-no-no-no-no-no-concert/20030245-110686.html
They are also on Park the Van Records (see: Dr. Dog, Justin

I guess they are broken up now? This doesn't really make me sad, mostly because I think sometimes it's harder for listeners to accept that no band can be expected to make songs this great forever.

Dr. Dog!
It is hard to choose a Dr. Dog song, but "My Old Ways" is one of my all time favorites. From the album We All Belong.

Dr. Dog hails from Philadelphia and is made up of Toby Leaman (bass), Scott McMicken (lead guitar), Frank McElroy (guitar) Zach Miller (keyboard), and Eric Slick (drums). Incidentally, Park the Van Records was originally founded in New Orleans to release the 2004 Dr. Dog album Easy Beat.

Floating Action
I'm sure (/ I hope) everyone and their mom has heard this album by now, but if you haven't now is the time.

History Lesson: Floating Action is Seth Kauffman, Josh Carpenter, Brian Landrum , Mark Capon.
