This year I will :
Leave the Midwest, finally. I will start in California and either by car or by bicycle I will arrive, eventually,
in Connecticut. I will look for a home. I will smell the mountains and the trees and I will pop my ears with
every change in elevation. I will someday, maybe, find a place to stay for a while. I am not yet convinced that
will happen this year but I am ready for the challenge. I am ready for life without leases, time constraints, and
furniture. I am ready to have my hands in soil or wool or honey. I am hoping for clothes that smell like smoke
and hair that has been washed only by a sudden storm or a not so sudden second. I am ready for release of pressure.
To find myself much lower, and then much higher, and never again in the
same place.
Most of all, I want to see and photograph more things like this :
lets ride bikes to south america, live in trees and write books about birds
ReplyDeleteI was researching farmstays recently and found a farm in Vermont that has an apiary and llamas and provides housing in a treehouse for it's volunteers. It might just be cheaper to go there?
ReplyDeletevermont hm? I have a good friend who runs a ski resort bar in green mountain national forest. and llamas?? perfect. I SUPPOSE south america can wait...
